1280×1024 thermal riflescope with 75 mm objective and integrated laser rangefinder
The HIKMICRO Stellar SX75L 4.0 is a thermal riflescope with a 1280×1024 sensor at 12 µm pixel pitch, an NETD of <12 mK and a 75 mm F1.2 objective. The base magnification is 3×. The field of view is 12.1° × 9.7°, which equals 21.2 × 17.0 meters at 100 meters. This lets you cover open terrain and fields well while keeping enough detail to assess game.
In practice, a 1280×1024 sensor lets you recognise almost every detail at shooting distance, from 100 to 200 meters. The integrated laser rangefinder, built in behind the lens, measures up to 1,200 meters, so you do not need a separate rangefinder. The ballistic calculation uses the measured distance to provide additional ballistic information. The image is shown on a 1.03-inch AMOLED display of 2560×2560 with a brightness sensor, so the display adapts to the ambient light.
You focus and zoom with the ring on the side of the scope, so you can adjust quickly without changing your grip. The scope is mounted with 30 mm rings. It offers recoil activation and can record photos and videos. For image processing the Stellar SX75L 4.0 uses Image Pro 4.0, and the thermal image is displayed with the Shutterless System (HSIS).
Key features of the HIKMICRO Stellar SX75L 4.0
- 1280×1024 sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch: plenty of thermal detail for assessing game at shooting distance.
- NETD <12 mK: high thermal sensitivity, so small temperature differences become visible.
- 75 mm F1.2 objective: a fast objective with a base magnification of 3×.
- Field of view of 12.1° × 9.7°: 21.2 × 17.0 meters at 100 meters, to overview more terrain at once.
- Integrated laser rangefinder up to 1,200 meters: measures distance directly from the scope.
- Ballistic calculation: uses the measured distance for additional ballistic information.
- Image Pro 4.0: image processing for the thermal image.
- AMOLED display 2560×2560, 1.03 inch: with a brightness sensor that adjusts the image to the ambient light.
- Focus and zoom ring on the side: adjust quickly without changing your grip.
- Integrated battery plus replaceable 18650 battery: carry a spare 18650 battery to stay out longer in the field.
Image quality and operation
The sensor is made in-house by HIKMICRO. The Shutterless System (HSIS) is designed to keep the thermal image running without interruption, which is useful when scanning terrain. You can adjust the contrast and choose from multiple colour palettes. The scope has a virtual reticle and an integrated tilt sensor.
The Stellar SX75L 4.0 takes photos and videos and has a local album. You connect it via Wi-Fi to the HIKMICRO Sight app. Image stabilisation is not included.
Battery and operating time
The scope runs for up to 7 hours on battery. Besides the integrated battery, which cannot be replaced, it uses one replaceable, rechargeable 18650 battery. This allows you to carry a spare battery.
Mounting and use
You mount the SX75L 4.0 with 30 mm rings. It has recoil activation and an IP67 rating. The operating temperature ranges from -30 to 55 °C at a relative humidity of 90% or less.
