640×512 thermal clip-on with 35 mm lens and laser rangefinder up to 1,200 meters
The HIKMICRO Thunder TQ35CL 4.0 is a thermal clip-on with a 640×512 thermal sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch, an NETD of <12 mK and a 35 mm F1.0 lens. The clip-on has 1× magnification and a detection range of up to 1,800 meters. The field of view is 12.5° × 8.0°, or 21.9 × 14.0 meters at 100 meters. When you scan open terrain and fields, you can take in a lot of ground at once.
A built-in laser rangefinder up to 1,200 meters sits on the lens. It lets you measure the distance to game without a separate rangefinder. The measuring range of the rangefinder is separate from the detection range of the thermal imaging system.
The unit uses the Shutterless system (HSIS), which is designed to interrupt the thermal image as little as possible. The device starts up in 2 seconds after switching on, so you can begin observing quickly. The power switch has been redesigned. The focus knob and the magnetic lens cap keep operation straightforward.
The OLED display has a resolution of 1920×1080 and measures 0.49 inch. A brightness sensor helps match the image to the ambient light. The unit weighs 560 grams and is protected to IP67.
Key Features HIKMICRO Thunder TQ35CL 4.0
- 640×512 sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch: gives a sharp thermal image for recognizing game at a distance.
- NETD <12 mK: makes small temperature differences clearly visible.
- 35 mm F1.0 lens with 1× magnification: gives a natural image with a wide overview.
- Field of view 12.5° × 8.0°: you see more terrain at once when scanning the hunting ground.
- Detection range up to 1,800 meters: indicates the distance at which the thermal imaging system can detect game. This is not the same as the distance at which you can identify game.
- Built-in laser rangefinder up to 1,200 meters: measures the distance to game without an extra device.
- Image Pro 4.0: HIKMICRO's image processing for the thermal image.
- Recoil activation for photo and video recording: captures the shot without you having to start a recording yourself.
- Built-in tilt sensor and virtual reticle: support use as a clip-on in front of a riflescope.
- Two replaceable, rechargeable batteries: you can carry spare batteries for a longer sit.
Thermal Image Quality
The 640×512 sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch provides enough image information to recognize and assess game. The NETD of <12 mK is a measure of thermal sensitivity. A lower value generally indicates greater sensitivity to small temperature differences. It does not tell you everything about performance in every situation.
The device processes the thermal image with Image Pro 4.0. Adjustable contrast lets you adapt the image to the terrain and conditions.
Operation and Quick Menu
The focus knob is within easy reach. The quick menu can be customized to your own preferences and locked with the menu lock. This way you do not change a setting by accident while in use. The magnetic lens cap stays with the lens and is quick to remove.
Photos, Videos and App
The device can record photos and videos. With recoil activation, recording starts when the shot is fired. Through Wi-Fi and the HIKMICRO Sight app, you connect the clip-on to your smartphone.
Battery and Operating Time
The clip-on runs on two replaceable and rechargeable batteries. Battery life is up to 6 hours. You can carry a spare battery and swap it in the field when you want to observe for longer.
