384×288 thermal clip-on with 35 mm lens and 1,800 meter detection range
The HIKMICRO Thunder TH35C 4.0 is a thermal clip-on with a 384×288 sensor with 12 μm pixel pitch, an NETD of <12 mK and a 35 mm F1.0 lens. The stated detection range is 1,800 meters. This lets you scan the terrain and locate game. Keep in mind that detection range is not automatically the distance at which you can reliably identify game or judge it before taking a shot.
As a clip-on, the TH35C 4.0 works at a magnification of 1×. The field of view is 7.5° × 5.7°, or 13.2 × 9.9 meters at 100 meters. The image appears on a 0.49 inch OLED display with 1920×1080 pixels and a brightness sensor. Sensor resolution and display resolution are two separate values.
The housing measures 125×64×64 mm and weighs 542 grams. The IP67 rating and an operating temperature range of -30 to 55 °C make the device suitable for outdoor use. It runs on two replaceable, rechargeable batteries. With a spare battery in your bag, you can stay out longer during a long sit.
The Thunder 4.0 series includes Image Pro 4.0, the Shutterless System (HSIS), a redesigned power switch and a quick menu with menu lock. The device starts up in 2 seconds and has a focus button and a magnetic lens cap. It also has a built-in tilt sensor and a virtual reticle.
Key Features HIKMICRO Thunder TH35C 4.0
- 384×288 sensor with 12 μm pixel pitch: provides the thermal image for observing game at dusk and in the dark.
- NETD <12 mK: high thermal sensitivity, so small temperature differences can become visible.
- 35 mm F1.0 lens: a fast lens for collecting thermal radiation.
- Detection range up to 1,800 meters: suited to locating game at longer distances.
- Field of view 7.5° × 5.7°: 13.2 × 9.9 meters at 100 meters, for scanning open terrain and fields.
- OLED display 1920×1080 with brightness sensor: shows the image and adapts the display to ambient light.
- Image Pro 4.0 and HSIS Shutterless System: image processing for a clearer thermal image, with a system that interrupts the picture as little as possible.
- Recoil activation: starts photo and video recording on the shot, so you can review the moment afterwards.
- 542 grams, IP67: a compact clip-on protected against dust and water.
- Two replaceable batteries, up to 6 hours: the batteries are rechargeable and replaceable.
Image quality and image processing
The TH35C 4.0 uses a 384×288 thermal sensor with 12 μm pixel pitch. Image Pro 4.0 processes the thermal image. The Shutterless System (HSIS) is designed to interrupt the image as little as possible while you search for game. The contrast is adjustable.
Operation
The redesigned power switch and the quick menu with menu lock keep operation straightforward. The menu lock helps prevent you from changing settings by accident. The device is ready within 2 seconds. You focus with the focus button. The magnetic lens cap stays attached to the device.
Recording, recoil activation and app
The device can record photos and videos. With recoil activation, recording starts on the basis of the recoil. There is also a local album. Via Wi-Fi you connect the clip-on to the HIKMICRO Sight app. The built-in tilt sensor and the virtual reticle are also available.

Within the Thunder 4.0 series, the TH35C 4.0 has a 384×288 sensor, while the TQ35C 4.0, TQ35CL 4.0, TQ50C 4.0 and TQ50CL 4.0 have a 640×512 sensor. The TX70CL 4.0 has a 1280×1024 sensor and a 70 mm lens. Like the TQ35C 4.0 and TQ35CL 4.0, the TH35C 4.0 has a 35 mm lens, but its field of view is narrower than that of those two models: 7.5° × 5.7° versus 12.5° × 8.0°. Its detection range of 1,800 meters matches that of the TQ35CL 4.0. The TQ50C 4.0 and TQ50CL 4.0 reach 2,600 meters and the TX70CL 4.0 reaches 3,500 meters. Like the TQ35C 4.0 and TQ50C 4.0, the TH35C 4.0 has no laser rangefinder. The TQ35CL 4.0, TQ50CL 4.0 and TX70CL 4.0 have a laser rangefinder up to 1,200 meters. At 542 grams, the TH35C 4.0 is lighter than the TQ35CL 4.0 (560 grams) and the TX70CL 4.0 (575 grams).
